How to Fix Knives Out Redemption Code Does Not Exist Errors

Fix the Knives Out redemption code does not exist error by resolving 16-digit input typos, web portal server desyncs, and regional promo voucher limits.

The "Redemption code does not exist" error in Knives Out occurs when the NetEase exchange system cannot match your submission to a valid, active voucher in your region. This failure is usually triggered by a 16-digit typo—often confusing the numeral 1 with lowercase l or the number 0 with the letter O—an expired promotional campaign, or mismatched account credentials on the external redemption site. If your User ID, character name, and active server do not align exactly with your game profile, the portal rejects the code automatically.

Web Portal Account Mismatches

When redeeming outside the client on the official NetEase web exchange, the platform does not automatically detect your session. You must manually submit your User ID (UID), character name, and server before entering the voucher string and clicking Exchange (Gamerant). If any of these three fields conflict, the portal cannot authenticate the destination account and frequently throws an invalid or non-existent code error.

To find your exact profile credentials:

  1. Open Knives Out and access your personal profile overview by tapping the top-left avatar icon. Note that some interface versions place this access point behind a star icon (VGTopup).
  2. Locate your numerical Character ID (UID) printed directly underneath your character name.
  3. Note your exact character name, including any symbols or capitalization.
  4. Check your active server on the title login screen (such as North America or Japan) before submitting the web form.

Typo Traps in 16-Digit Codes

Knives Out redemption keys are case-sensitive. Manual entry of codes up to 16 digits long creates substantial risk for transcription errors (VGTopup). The NetEase redemption parser does not autocorrect ambiguous characters.

Look for common substitution errors:

  • Uppercase I, lowercase l, and the numeral 1.
  • Capital O and the numeral 0.
  • Unintentional whitespace at the start or end of the text field when copying and pasting.

If a code fails on the web portal, test it directly inside the game client instead. From the lobby, tap Menu and select Pack to open the client-side redemption box (Timrim). Documented client UI layouts vary: some patch versions show the Menu in the bottom-left corner of the lobby screen, while others place it on the upper left side. Client-side redemption cannot be accessed while you are in a matchmaking queue or during an active match.

Regional Locking and Expiration Flags

Not every code works globally. NetEase frequently restricts campaigns to designated regional servers (Timrim). Codes distributed through the official Japanese Knives Out X account, for instance, cannot be redeemed on North American or global server accounts. Submitting a server-locked key on the wrong regional portal produces a rejection.

Keys also expire without warning. Once an event concludes, NetEase deactivates the corresponding codes on the backend. Every code is strictly single-use per account; entering a voucher your profile has already claimed returns an error or fails silently rather than awarding duplicate items.

Redeem Codes vs. Direct UID Fulfillment

Players using codes to add Knives Out Vouchers—the game's premium currency used for character outfits, weapon skins, vehicle paint jobs, and battle passes—face different error risks depending on the delivery format:

Delivery MethodInput Error RisksRegional Restrictions
Direct UID CreditVerified at purchase before sendingBound directly to selected server (VGTopup)
Manual Redeem CodeTypo risks across 16-digit code entry (VGTopup)Codes can be strictly region-locked (Timrim)

Troubleshooting Checklist

If you have confirmed that the code is active and region-appropriate, run through these sequential checks:

  • Log out and re-check server selection: Confirm your server at the game's start screen matches the server dropdown on the web portal.
  • Clear extra spaces: Pasting text on mobile browsers often introduces an invisible trailing space at the end of the code string.
  • Verify single-use status: Confirm the code has not already been used on your character UID during the current event cycle.
  • Try the in-game Pack window: Switch away from the web browser and paste the voucher into the client lobby under Menu > Pack.
